The Word Rain guide

How to play Word Rain.

A falling word, a few quick taps and a little more pressure with every moment. Here is how your first round works.

Type the falling words before they reach the ground.

Word Rain is a mobile arcade typing game for iPhone and Android. Words appear inside glowing bubbles and fall down the screen. Type a complete word accurately to pop its bubble and earn points. You can choose any visible word; the challenge is deciding which one needs your attention first.

If even one bubble reaches the ground, the round ends. As you survive, the rain gets busier and the pace increases. Your aim is to keep the screen under control and beat your own high score.

What do the bubble colours mean?

Colour gives you a quick clue about word difficulty. The mix gets tougher as the round continues.

Do not judge urgency by colour alone. A short word near the bottom still needs attention before it reaches the ground. Read the word, notice its position and commit to an accurate answer.

Choose a word language you want to play with.

Word Rain has ten selectable word languages: English, German, Croatian, Serbian, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, Turkish, Japanese. Serbian uses Cyrillic. The menus and app interface are in English, regardless of the word language you choose.

Start with a language and phone keyboard you are comfortable using. Before choosing a different script, make sure you can enter its characters on your device. Changing the word bank changes the words in the game; it does not turn the app into a translation lesson.

A simple approach to your first round

  1. Read one whole word. A complete, correct word clears a bubble. Rushing an unfamiliar spelling can take longer than a deliberate attempt.
  2. Watch what is closest to the ground. Keep checking the next bubble while you clear the current one.
  3. Find a comfortable pace. Let the early part of the round help you settle into the keyboard before the rain becomes busier.
  4. Compare with your own last run. Chase a personal best and notice which words or moments made you hesitate.

These are gameplay suggestions, not a promise of a particular score or typing improvement. Word Rain is built around the arcade challenge. It is not a structured typing course, an assessment of language proficiency or a certified words-per-minute test.

Need to pause or report a problem?

The app includes a pause control when you need a break. If something is not working, the Word Rain support page has the full FAQs and a link to the protected contact form. Include your device model and app version when describing a problem.
